Despite paying my income and wealth tax (now abolished) in good time in 2008, for some reason this year 2009, it slipped my mind to the extent that on 28th December I became aware of my error, and thought it an impossible task to get the tax paid by the due date of 31st December. I trawled the internet and came across the website www.taxesonline.es. I sent an email to Ben Simkins and received a reply the same day. I emailed all the necessary information to complete the form. But the biggest hurdle was that I had to get the money transferred to Taxes online for both the tax and payment. In fact Ben agreed to go ahead and arrange payment of the tax on trust that I would forward the monies to him urgently. Quite a unique situation in this day and age!! And this is how my taxes were paid by the due date and the speed and efficiency of this company prevented a fine being imposed – Just a brilliant achievement!! Fantastic service for 49 euros, considering it cost me 175 euros last year in solicitors fees!!
